Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety is actually a natural feeling whose main purpose is to protect us. But when anxiety takes on a life of its own, appears without a clear reason and persists, it can become an enormous burden. An anxiety disorder can feel as though fear has completely taken over the steering wheel of your life. It may show up as constant, distressing worry about the future, as a sudden and intense panic attack seemingly out of nowhere, or as fear of everyday situations and interpersonal encounters.

Persistent and intense fears of particular situations, objects or activities can also severely restrict life and turn everyday life into a daily challenge. Whether it is fear of water and inability to swim, heights, medical procedures, animals or very specific triggers – even the mere thought of them can provoke intense physical and psychological reactions.

The body may remain in a near-constant state of alarm: the heart races, breathing becomes shallow and an ongoing, exhausting tension develops.

Fear of fear itself often leads to a gradual withdrawal that noticeably limits personal freedom and quality of life. In my practice, I support you with scientifically grounded psychotherapeutic methods in breaking this cycle of fear and avoidance in a lasting way. Together, we develop strategies tailored to you so that you can regain a sense of control over your life and approach everyday life with greater freedom and self-determination.
