Person-Centred Educational Counselling
Two things can be true at the same time: you can be a wonderful caregiver and still be struggling enormously right now. Parenting often reflects our own history and can bring us to our limits through exhaustion or anger. Difficult behaviour in children is not a problem that simply needs to be fixed, but a window into deeper emotional needs.
In my therapeutic work, we view this behaviour as an opportunity for personal growth for parents and children, as well as for educators in institutional settings.
The therapeutic path
Together, we separate identity from behaviour in order to consistently interrupt the spiral of shame when emotions boil over. Using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach, we identify your personal triggers in acute stress situations. Through reparenting, you learn to validate your own inner child and offer yourself empathy.
Stability instead of perfection
Mistakes are allowed, because the goal is not perfection but the conscious repair of ruptures in relationships. This reliable repair of emotional ruptures forms a stable foundation for your child’s lifelong resilience. I offer you a space to break old patterns and build a relationship between you as a caregiver and your children that is grounded in safety.
