Self-Esteem & Insecurity
Almost everyone knows the voice in our head that constantly criticises us. But when self-doubt and insecurity begin to shape everyday life, life can become very exhausting. It can feel as though you are never “good enough” – at work, in relationships or compared with others. Many people adapt themselves excessively, put their own needs aside and are deeply afraid of making mistakes or being rejected. Every criticism then cuts deeply, while praise is difficult to accept. This constant vigilance and the feeling of having to hide or change who you are consume enormous energy and can sometimes lead to a profound sense of inner loneliness.
Low self-esteem is not something you simply have to accept. It is the result of earlier experiences and patterns of thinking that can be examined and changed. In therapy, we explore these patterns and underlying beliefs, rediscover your strengths, learn to set boundaries and gradually build a stable and compassionate foundation on which you can stand with greater security and confidence.
